Playhouse 38 presents 'Barefoot in the Park' March 1-4

The Geneva Park District's Playhouse 38 Theater invites you to enjoy their production of Neil Simon's classic romantic comedy "Barefoot in the Park."

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer, and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find - too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job.

After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their upstairs neighbor. Of course, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong.

"Barefoot in the Park "stars Brooke McGehee as Corie; Tyler Kinser as Paul; Jami Johnson as Corie's mother, Ethel; John Frankenthal as the upstairs neighbor, Victor Velasco; Steve Lord as the telephone repairman, Harry Pepper; and Jim Knapp as the Lord and Taylor delivery man. This show is directed by Lisa Pivaronas.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, March 1-3, and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4.

Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance at genevaparks.org, Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave., or Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road. If available, tickets may be purchased at the door for $20.

Playhouse 38 is located at 321 Stevens St., Suite P in Geneva. For information, visit genevaparks.org or call (630) 232-4542.
