Library Invites Teens and Adults to Book Launch Event

Author Susan Miura will talk about her newest young adult novel, Healer, at the "Healer Book Launch" from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the Rasmussen North Room of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd. Healer was released in January from Vinspire Publishing. Cake, giveaways, prizes and an acoustic performance by the lead singer of Tiny Kingdoms will be included in this free event.

In Healer, 17-year-old Shilo Giannelli discovers she possesses the spiritual gift of healing. This revelation turns her world inside out and has a powerful impact on her life, her boyfriend, friendships, and plans for the future. When she heals an abused toddler, she forms an unlikely friendship with the child's teen mother, and the two soon find themselves facing a life-threatening situation involving a gang bent on revenge.

Miura, a longtime Schaumburg resident, will provide insight on the novel and discuss ways in which everyone can use their talents, skills and passions to make a difference in the world. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the program. Registration is required. To register, call (847) 923-3347.
