Emerald themed event to benefit Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital

DOWNERS GROVE - The Friends of Share at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital will host an Emerald Evening benefit on Friday, March 16, at Abbington Distinctive Banquets, 3S002 Route 53, Glen Ellyn.

The event, which will be held from 6 to 11 p.m., will feature dinner, dancing and entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to wear festive cocktail attire.

Proceeds will benefit the Share program that offers counseling and emotional support to families experiencing grief, loss and challenges during and after pregnancy.

In addition, children are invited to attend "Kidz Night Out" from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Butterfield Park District, 21W730 Butterfield Road in Lombard, located down the street from the Abbington.

Thirty years ago, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital established a chapter of Share, a national program that offers immediate help for those experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, a premature birth, infant loss or the loss of a baby. Throughout the years, Share has served more than 10,000 families by providing counseling and monthly support groups, educational resources and sensitivity training for nurses, financial support, perinatal palliative care and annual memorial services.
