Renowned physicist Brian Greene presents 'Chasing Reality: Einstein's Dream and Beyond' March 4

Renowned physicist Brian Greene brings his talk "Chasing Reality: Einstein's Dream and Beyond" to College of DuPage at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in the Belushi Performance Hall at the McAninch Arts Center on the college's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

During his presentation, Greene will take audience members on a journey across 300 years of thinking, experiencing a state-of-the-art search for the deepest laws of the universe.

Greene is a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University, where he is also the director of the Center for Theoretical Physics. He is the author of three acclaimed books, "The Elegant Universe," "The Fabric of the Cosmos," and "The Hidden Reality," which have collectively sold over two million copies and spent 65 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. His books are also the basis of two Emmy and Peabody Award-winning "Nova" miniseries, both of which Greene hosted.

A Harvard graduate and a Rhodes Scholar, Greene is the co-founder of The World Science Festival, which brings cutting-edge science programming to broad audiences. He is also a frequent television guest, joining Stephen Colbert eight times and playing himself in an episode of "The Big Bang Theory."

The college's STEM offerings continues Saturday, April 28, with STEM-CON, the college's annual interactive, family-based celebration of all things STEM through a broad range of activities and events, including expert speakers, hands-on experiences and interactive exhibits and STEM experts.

This year's event will feature keynote speaker Emily Graslie, writer, producer, co-creator and host of "The Brain Scoop," an educational YouTube channel that explores behind-the-scenes of The Field Museum.

The goal of STEM at College of DuPage is to enhance the quality of STEM instructional and outreach programs and to help current and future students prepare for careers in STEM fields. COD offers a broad range of academic programs designed to provide students with the educational background and training needed to successfully pursue an advanced degree or career in STEM.
