Chorus opens rehearsal to male singers
Men of all ages who like to sing can see whether they'd enjoy harmonizing in a barbershop chorus when the Chorus of DuPage hosts an open rehearsal.
"Our ordinary rehearsal nights are anything but ordinary," Chorus of DuPage member Jerry Broz said.
The guest night rehearsal begins at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville.
The chorus performs a cappella and barbershop in four-part harmony without musical accompaniment.
"There's nothing quite like ringing a chord in a quartet or blending with 25 or 35 other men in a chorus," Broz said. "Come see for yourself."
Male singers of all skill levels and experience are welcome. The chorus will help new members learn to combine their voices with the chorus. Joining the chorus does not require an audition, and new members do not need to know how to read music.
The Chorus of DuPage is a men's chorus that has performed in and around DuPage County since 1961. Men who are interested can RSVP to Bruce Rhoades at (708) 243-0749 or Bruce@rbihomes.com, or they can just show up for the rehearsal on Feb. 20.
