Democrats to host Feb. 12 candidate forum for 6th Congressional race

On Monday, Feb. 12, the Dundee Township and Elgin Township Democrats will host a forum for candidates running in the Democratic Party primary election for Illinois's 6th Congressional District. The 6th District covers parts of the Chicago suburbs from portions of Oak Brook in the south to parts of Barrington in the north and west to Elgin and Dundee.

Seven candidates are running for the nomination. The candidates in attendance will be: Sean Casten, Downers Grove; Carole Cheney, Naperville; Ryan Huffman, Palatine; Kelly Mazeski, Barrington Hills; and Jennifer Zordani, Clarendon Hills.

Patrick Gordon, professor of paralegal and business, at Elgin Community College will be the moderator.

The forum will last approximately two hours. Questions were chosen from input by various interested people. The candidates will not have the questions in advance.

The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Seigle Auditorium (Building E), 1700 Spartan Drive. Parking is available across from Building E.

The main auditorium is completely booked but an overflow area is available for those attending. Free tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com.
