College of DuPage to host Humanities Fest Feb. 12-20

Explore various areas of study within humanities at "The Noise of Culture" festival at College of DuPage Monday, Feb. 12, to Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The event features college faculty, instructors and staff drawing from anthropology, architecture, art, earth science, film, history, music and sociology to discuss and explore ideas across a broad range of topics.

Following the Humanities Festival opening from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, sessions throughout the festival will include "Fake News: Consider the Source," "What Can I do with a Humanities Degree," "Using Film to 'See' Culture Groups," "Community College, Community Art," "Freud and YOU," and "Architecture as Spatial Agency."

In addition, the festival will include a Fermi National Laboratory driving arts tour exploring the interplay between arts and science. This tour is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required. Visit www.eventbrite.comto register.

This year's festival also runs in conjunction with COD's Global Flicks series; "Unite," an exhibition by artist Faheem Majeed at the Cleve Carney Art Gallery and a production of "Time Stands Still" by Buffalo Theatre Ensemble at the McAninch Arts Center; as well as a collaboration between Majeed and the College's architecture students in the Techcetera Gallery.
