Retirement expert Greg Kurinec presents 'Health Care in Retirement' Feb. 21

Trying to make heads or tails of health care, with its seemingly endless changes and complexity, is enough to make just about anyone queasy.

Against that backdrop, a retirement planning expert who speaks with clarity and authority is the perfect antidote.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, Greg Kurinec of Bentron Financial Group leads an in-depth discussion on “Health Care in Retirement” at the Westmont Park District's Community Center, 75 E. Richmond St.

You can register at www.westmontparks.org, call (630) 963-5252 or walk in to the park district office.

In his one-hour presentation, Kurinec will provide detail of the four parts of Medicare: Part A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (Prescription Drugs).

Kurinec also will share his knowledge of Medicare Supplements and the different plans that are available. In addition, attendees will receive an overview of long-term care insurance and the four strategies used to protect yourself from the high costs of long-term care.

Kurinec began with Bentron, based in Naperville, in 2004. Since then, he has helped people at or near retirement through investment advising, estate planning, risk management and watching out for their overall financial well-being.

A lifelong resident of Orland Park, Greg is a graduate of Purdue University's College of Consumer and Family Sciences, having earned degrees in Financial Planning and Counseling, as well as Selling and Sales Management.

In addition to his “Go to Greg” column, which has appeared in the Naperville Patch, Kurinec has served as an expert source and been quoted in publications ranging from Consumer Affairs and Insure.com to FINS Finance and MySuburbanLife.com.

In 2012, after his mother, Jeanne, lost her life to cancer, Greg and his two siblings founded “Jeanne's Journey for Hope” to help other families battle the disease in its many forms. Since then, the foundation has raised more than $75,000 to help families pay hospital and medical bills or as income replacement if the disease has resulted in a loss of employment.
