College of DuPage automotive program receives reaccreditation
The Automotive Service Technology program at College of DuPage has been reaccredited at the Master Automotive Service Technology level by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
As part of the reaccreditation process, the program underwent rigorous NATEF evaluations using nationally-accepted standards of excellence in the areas of instruction, equipment and facilities. Upon completion of the review, NATEF recommended COD's program also be accredited by the ASE, a national non-profit organization which tests and certifies repair technicians, in addition to accrediting automotive training programs.
"During the past year, we worked closely with NATEF to make certain our program meets strict industry standards, and now we are delighted to continue in the ranks of NATEF and ASE accredited training programs," said COD Automotive Technology Coordinator Tom Robertson. "Students are assured of a quality education, and shop owners of getting quality job applicants."
The Automotive Service Technology program provides education and practice in automotive system operation, diagnosis, and repair of passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks. The program offers both a certificate and an associate's degree to help prepare students to immediately enter the workforce or continue their studies at a four-year institution.
