Glenbard North to put on classic comedy 'Harvey' Feb. 8-10

Glenbard North Theatre will present "Harvey," a Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 8-10.

"Harvey" is the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a polite and friendly gentleman with a strange best friend - a 6-foot, 1-inch tall, invisible rabbit named Harvey. When Elwood begins introducing Harvey around town, his embarrassed sister, Veta Louise, and her daughter, Myrtle Mae, become concerned the rabbit will interfere with their life as socialites, so they are determined to commit Elwood to a sanitarium. A mistake is made, however, and Veta is committed instead. Elwood leaves the sanitarium grounds unbothered, turning the town upside down as everyone goes on the lookout for this mild-mannered hero and his invisible rabbit.

The cast includes Eric Norman as Elwood P. Dowd, Samantha O'Connell as Veta Louise Simmons, Isabella Nicholson as Myrtle Mae Simmons, Pooja Chafekar as Ruth Kelly, Karen Chau as Miss Johnson, Demi Dumovich as Mrs. Chauvenet, Michael Oswald as Duane Wilson, Tony Boccia as Lyman Sanderson, Christopher Glade as William Chumley, Mia Figueroa as Betty Chumley, Logan Van Lerberghe as Judge Omar Gaffney, and Josh Herbord as E.J. Lofgren.

Tickets are $8 and may be reserved at www.glenbardnorthhs.seatyourself.biz.

Tickets also will be available at the door.

"Harvey" will be presented in the Little Theatre at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road in Carol Stream. Join them for a laugh-out-loud evening.

Nathan King is the director, Jon O'Brien is the technical director, Jolaine Orlin is the sound director, Robyn Scurek is the costumes/publicity director, and Lily Roldan is the props director.
