Geneva Eye Clinic to host low vision support group Jan. 22

As part of its continuing series, the Geneva Eye Clinic will welcome guest speaker John Gordon of the Illinois Bureau of Blind Services to the next low vision support group meeting. It will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the clinic, 1000 Randall Road, Suite 100 in Geneva. The bureau is part of the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Patients have a severe, permanent loss of vision. The cause can be congenital or acquired through various conditions, such as age-related macular degeneration or glaucoma. It can make it difficult to navigate day-to-day activities.

Topics for discussion will include:

• Eligibility for elderly blind grant money;

• Illinois Center for Rehabilitation training for the blind;

• Vocational training and goals.

Refreshments will be served. To RSVP, contact frontdesk@genevaeye.com or call (630) 232-1282. Visit genevaeye.com.
