Seniors invited to roundtable discussion in Mundelein

State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is calling on local seniors to join him for a roundtable discussion about issues that affect the senior community from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at the Fremont Township office, 22385 Route 60, Mundelein.

"Senior citizens, their caregivers and their loved ones need a seat at the table as important issues affecting them are decided at the state level," Yingling said. "In Springfield, I'm standing up for aging residents and working to protect what they've worked a lifetime to earn. Meeting with residents in smaller, more personal settings like this roundtable discussion allow me to hear firsthand from the people I represent about the issues impacting them."

Yingling meets with members of his Senior Issues Citizens Advisory Committee regularly to provide updates on legislation under consideration in Springfield, discuss pending legislation and take ideas for new bills from members of the community. The meeting is free.

"As the state continues to confront serious issues that affect all of us, it is absolutely important that we are working together to make sure all residents have a say in what happens in our state government," Yingling said. "My senior issues roundtable will help amplify the voices of those I serve."
