Writers Welcome to Participate in Free Synopsis Workshop

A free workshop from the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Chicago Chapter will cover the challenging task of summarizing a book. "Creating the Dreaded Synopsis" will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12 in the Rasmussen North Room of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd. Non-members are welcome to participate. The workshop will be led by Chapter President Lara Helmling, who will provide tips, samples and opportunities to practice newly-learned skills.

"One of the main elements of a book proposal is the synopsis," Helmling said. "But condensing a whole novel into a page or less can make a writer freeze up. Not to worry; help is on the way."

Writers of all genres are invited to the workshop, in which members and guests will share suggestions and experiences, as well as provide constructive feedback.

There is no fee or registration required for attending this ACFW meeting, and no obligation to join. For more information, go to the ACFW Chicago Chapter Facebook page or call ACFW Chicago Chapter President Lara Helmling at (877) 881-2133.
