Elk Grove Leo Club collects pet food and toys for Almost Home Foundation

Deadline for donations is Saturday, Jan. 13

Submitted by Ray Szull

The Elk Grove Village Leo Club is conducting its annual Pet Food Drive to benefit the Almost Home Foundation based in Schaumburg. This cornerstone program typically brings in more than 1,500 items of unopened wet or dry cat and dog food and new or very gently used cat and dog supplies that are essential in aiding the foster care of rescue, stray and discarded pets that the Almost Home Foundation dutifully supports.

Collection boxes for these items are located at the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave.; Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd.; the main office at Elk Grove High School, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd.; and at the b.i.s.i Chicago Dance Company, 660 Meacham Road.

The final day to place items in these collection boxes is Saturday, Jan. 13.

The Leo Club is the youth run group for students in seventh grade through high school under the umbrella of the Elk Grove Village Lions Club, and recognized by Lions Clubs International. In addition to the hosting annual Pet Food Drive, the Leos participate in many other community service events and programs that support the village throughout the year.
