Hanover Township to open for property tax appeals

The Hanover Township Assessor's Office will be open for Cook County Board of Review property tax appeals beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Residents looking to file an appeal to the Cook County Board of Review can do so with the Hanover Township Assessor's Office until Monday, Jan. 29. Appeals can also be filed online at www.cookcountyboardofreview.com or the Cook County Board of Review Office in Chicago until Jan. 31.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak will co-host a Board of Review Outreach Seminar.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, in Bartlett, Commissioner Patlak will be answering questions and accepting property assessment appeals.

Residents are asked to bring their real estate tax bill to the seminar. Appeals will be filed for assessments for the 2017 tax year.
