Mt. Prospect Park District seeks feedback in Online Survey

The Mt. Prospect Park District is mapping its future with the development of a 3-5 year Strategic Plan beginning with a Community Attitude & Opinion Survey. The survey is now available online to residents at mppd.org.

The district hired aQity Research & Insights of Evanston to create and facilitate the initial survey sent to 4,000 residents of the Mt. Prospect Park District. The survey seeks to determine residents overall satisfaction with the park district's programs and events, staff, facilities, parks and services. The survey is now available online at mppd.org through January 7, 2018. Results will be presented to the Mt. Prospect Park Board of Commissioners at the January 17, 2018 Park Board Meeting.

An understanding of residents needs is essential to future planning. Survey results feed into the development of the Strategic Plan which seeks to identify for the board, leadership team, staff and community who we are, why we exist, where we are as an organization and where we are heading. Implementation of the Strategic Plan should clarify purpose and align systems and efforts while setting a standard for continuous improvement for the next 3-5 years.

Park District Executive Director, Dan Malartsik, conducted three community focus groups comprised of 60 randomly selected residents/participants in a discussion to identify and prioritize critical issues including district strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Additional Focus Groups included Local Government/Community Partners, the Park District Board of Commissioners, and Park District staff. The Strategic Plan will ultimately establish a foundation for a master plan process.
