Hampshire library offers travel and holiday programs

Warm up this December at Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library, 109 S. State St. in Hampshire, with the following programs.

"Adventures of an Expat: Experience the World Like an Expert" will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14.

Guest speaker Eric Spring has been a professional translator of language and culture for over a decade and in the last year alone he has traveled to 11 countries. He will talk about his most memorable stories, the lessons he has learned as an American abroad, and the amazing locales he is heading to next. Come learn how to hack your travel experience and make it work for you.

The library also will host a holiday open house from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.

Savor cocoa and cookies provided by Ella's Friends, and enjoy live holiday music from the Burlington High School Jazz Band, Fox Valley Concert Band Sax Ensemble, and the Mellas Family Ensemble.

This event is sponsored by Heartland Bank of Hampshire and Ella's Friends.
