Bartlett Library foundation offers funding for new books

The Bartlett Public Library District Foundation approved an expenditure from the foundation's Patti Perkins Women's Health Fund to cover the cost of five new titles for the adult nonfiction collection at the Bartlett Public Library.

The titles are: "The Breast Test Book" by Connie Jones, "The Black Women's Breast Cancer Survival Guide" by Cheryl Holloway, "Managing Prostate Cancer" by Andrew Roth, "Pretty Sick," by Caitlin Kiernan, and "Androgen Deprivation Therapy."

The Patti Perkins Women's Health Fund was set up in memory of former circulation staff supervisor Patti Perkins in 2000. Through this specific fund, The foundation raises money to assist the Bartlett Public Library in provision of materials and programs specifically to help women, and those they care about and for them, to access information to educate themselves on health issues.

Donations to the fund and the foundation's Main Fund are always appreciated, as the foundation strives to raise funds to assist the Bartlett Public Library in serving the community. Donations may be sent to the Bartlett Public Library District Foundation, 800 S. Bartlett Road, Bartlett, IL 60103.

For information about the foundation, contact Karolyn Nance, library director, at (630) 213-5001 or knance@bartlettlibrary.org.
