Excellence in Financial Reporting

An award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the Finance Department of the Elk Grove Park District. This is the 16th consecutive year Elk Grove Park District has received this award.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Elk Grove Park District by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Rhonda Brewer, director of Business Services for the Elk Grove Park District since April of 2015 said, "Employees of Elk Grove Park District closely monitor the judicious use of public funds and provide full disclosure through accurate reporting."

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

"It's an honor for the district to win this award for the 16th consecutive year," said Elk Grove Park District Executive Director Thomas Busby.

GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D.C.
