WACO Toy Drive to benefit local children in need

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization's 38th annual Toy Drive is running from now through Dec. 13. The nonprofit will give the toys to impoverished children living in the northwest and western suburbs. WACO supports nearly 2,000 children in need.

You can help by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or game at any of these locations:

• Bloomingdale: Walk-In Closet, 107 Third St., Unit 5;

• Glendale Heights: Armstrong Relocation, 1601 Fullerton Court;

• Hoffman Estates: White Castle, 1100 W. Golf Road;

• Lake in the Hills: BizCrown Media, 9111 Trinity Drive;

• Rolling Meadows: McDonald's, 1775 W. Algonquin Road;

• Schaumburg: Advantage Solutions, 50 Commerce Drive, Suite 170; Chick-fil-A at 935 E Golf Road or 90 Barrington Road; Courtyard by Marriott, 1311 American Lane; FireZone, 1100 National Pkwy.; GameWorks, 601 N. Martingale Road (through Dec. 9 only); Heartland Bank, 321 W. Golf Road; McDonald's, 955 E. Golf Road; Microsoft Store (Woodfield Mall), 106 Woodfield Mall; New York Life, Rep. Michelle Mussman's office, 15 Weathersfield Way; Residence Inn, 1610 McConnor Pkwy.; SpringHill Suites, 1550 McConnor Pkwy.; and State Farm Scott Weer Agency, 1457 Schaumburg Road Unit B.

• Wood Dale: Thornwood Restaurant & Lounge, 1051 N. Wood Dale Road (thru Dec. 6 only).

As a special incentive, GameWorks will be collecting new unwrapped toys or games on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28.

Anyone who brings in a donation will receive a one-hour game card, as well as a second card with 40 credits.

Meanwhile, three local businesses are hosting Giving Trees on behalf of some of the children WACO supports. You can fulfill a child's wish list by going to Olive Garden, Patrick Cadillac or Rosati's on Wise in Schaumburg, and taking a paper ornament from the tree.
