United Way of Lake County Joins #GivingTuesday Movement

October 2017 (Lake County, IL) - United Way of Lake County (UWLC) will be participating in the sixth annual #GivingTuesday social movement, a collaborative effort focused on giving back to the community. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, charities, businesses, families and individuals from around the world will come together to celebrate generosity and to give.

#GivingTuesday contributions to United Way of Lake County will be support Success By 6, its founding education program that implements early learning initiatives that target low-income families with children ages birth through 5 years-old. Success By 6 focuses its work in North Chicago, Round Lake, Waukegan and Zion - where the need is greatest for young children and their families. Within the four communities we serve- there are 7,200 children under that age of 6 years old, and 70% live in poverty.

For the third year in a row, Procter and Gamble will match 100% of Giving Tuesday donations up to $6,500. A matching gift means that our impact will double for children and families that need and deserve our help.
