The Bittersweet Christmas Band to perform at Highland Avenue Coffeehouse

From the reverent to the ridiculous, enjoy a vivid, engaging, and eclectic Christmas musical experience with the Bittersweet Christmas Band at the Highland Avenue Coffeehouse from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1.

The program will feature four traditional artists who branch out into every possible perspective on the Christmas season. With two- to four-part harmonies and masterful instrumentation on guitar, banjo, mountain dulcimer, hand drum and other percussion instruments, Phil Cooper, Kate Early, Margaret Nelson, and Susan Urban delight and surprise audiences with their unique take on the holidays.

The band members say of themselves with tongue in cheek, "The holidays are a mixed bag, and so is the Bittersweet Christmas Band."

All are welcome. Friends and neighbors from the community are invited to join this always friendly audience. Admission is free; donations will be appreciated. There will be light refreshments.
