Be a cool competitor in the Chilly Chili 5K

Warm up with a morning run through a scenic golf course, followed by a bowl of chili.

Schaumburg Park District's annual Chilly Chili 5K Race begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road. The race is U.S.A. Track & Field certified.

Included with the chili lunch is one free beer for participants 21 and older.

The Chilly Chili 5K is for ages 10 and older and includes multiple age divisions. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each division.

"This is a popular race on a nice route," said Charissa Tischhauser, fitness supervisor. "Enjoying a bowl of chili afterward makes the event even more fun."

Preregistration is available at active.com. Preregistration is $35 and is due by 5 p.m. Nov. 29. Race-day registration is $40. Check-in, packet pickup and race-day registration will be available from 8-9:30 a.m. Dec. 2.

All participants will receive a long-sleeve tech shirt.
