West Chicago cops collect Toys for Tots

The West Chicago Police Department is again participating in the Toys for Tots Program.

Sponsored by the DuPage County U.S. Marines, the program is designed to send a message of hope to children who are less fortunate by giving them a new toy at Christmas. New unwrapped toys may be left in a decorated box in the front lobby of the police station at 325 Spencer St.

The toys will be picked by Dec. 19 and taken to a local warehouse to be sorted and distributed throughout DuPage County.

Police will continue to collect toys for a short period of time after Christmas for last-minute requests that could not be filled before the holiday.

For more information, call officer Mike Zepeda at (630) 293-2222 or write mzepeda@westchicago.org.

Anyone wishing to be put on a list to receive toys must go to www.toysfortots.org website, navigate to the Request Toys tab and then click DuPage County.
