Apply for Geneva's Citizen Police Academy

If you are curious to learn how the Geneva police officers do their job, register to be part of the inaugural Citizen Police Academy in 2018.

The weekly classes will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 11 through March 22.

The program was created to give residents an overview and insight into the department along with a behind-the-scenes look at police operations.

Citizen Police Academy participants must be age 21 or older and reside within the city of Geneva.

Applications for the academy are available on the city's website at www.geneva.il.us or at the Geneva Police Department. The program is free, but space is limited.

Completed applications can be mailed to the Geneva Police Department, Attn: Sgt. Bradley Jerdee, 20 Police Plaza, Geneva, IL 60134. The deadline is 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1.

For more information, contact Police Commander Julie Nash at (630) 232-4736 or via email at jnash@geneva.il.us.
