WTTW Kids BIG IDEA outreach tour to stop at Gail Borden

The WTTW Kids BIG IDEA outreach tour will be at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.

The WTTW Kids BIG IDEA is in its first year of touring. It was created to allow children to expand upon their own natural desires to learn.

The interactive "traveling lab" visits major indoor family venues throughout the Chicago area, all year long, and promotes that a "BIG IDEA" is a solution to a problem, an answer to a question, or something that has opened your mind to a new understanding. When you're a kid, the world is full of new things to learn.

Big ideas help to solve every day conundrums, large and small. As part of the outreach tours, kids will explore the recipe for a "BIG IDEA," which is:

• Wonder: A question in your mind or a curiosity to learn more.

• Watch: Observe how something is done or how it works. Absorb information and consider the possibilities.

• Learn More: Read a book, watch a video, visit a library or a zoo, or talk with someone who might have more information to share.

The program will be in the main library rotunda at the bottom of the stairs. Visit www.gailborden.info.
