College of DuPage Community Honors Veterans at Annual Ceremony, Read-In

College of DuPage Vice President for Administration and Treasurer (CFO) and retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Brian Caputo shares his thoughts and experiences on his military service during the College's annual celebration of Veterans Day.

The celebration featured a performance of the national anthem by College employee and veteran Erick Flores, a Colors Ceremony led by the College of DuPage Color Guard, visiting reps from various veteran's organizations, and an exhibit of artifacts from branches of the Armed Forces.

In addition, College President and retired Navy Vice Admiral Dr. Ann Rondeau kicked off the 11th annual Veterans Day Read-In by sharing an excerpt from the book "Reminiscences of My Life in Camp" by Suzie King Taylor, the first African-American Army nurse. The read-in featured short presentations by COD students, faculty and employees who read excerpts from war and military literature, told personal stories of their experiences, or shared stories about veterans who have impacted their lives.
