Campton Hills invites you to Holiday in the Hills event Dec. 1

On Friday, Dec. 1, the Village of Campton Hills will be hosting its annual Holiday in the Hills event from 6 to 9 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity to kick off the holiday season as a community," stated Village President Harry Blecker. "We would love to see the community join together for this event and support our local businesses that have helped make this possible."

The tree lighting ceremony and ornament decorating will be in front of the village hall, 40W270 LaFox Road.

There will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus (arriving by fire engine).

Holiday in the Hills will feature local musicians from Kaneland High School Madrigals, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra and Thompson Middle School. Holiday live greens will be available for purchase along with samplings of roasted chestnuts.

Local Campton Hills businesses will be open during the event. The businesses are hosting a scavenger hunt for those attendees, age 17 or younger, with prizes. Grand prize is an iPad and other prizes include gift cards and gift baskets. Free shuttle buses will be available to take you to the various businesses and events throughout the evening.

The village's Holiday in the Hills event will provide another fun opportunity for children to get involved with their community while enjoying the holiday festivities. They invite children to bring environmentally friendly ornaments and decorations they have made to hang on the holiday tree in front of the village hall between 6 and 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1.
