Christian Youth Theatre-DuPage to present 'A Christmas Carol'

The Christian Youth Theatre-DuPage will present "A Christmas Carol" on Dec. 7-10 at Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1201 Main St. The school day performances will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8. Public performances wil lbe 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, and 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9-10.

In Charles Dickens' novel, "A Christmas Carol," an old miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, is visited by three spirits who attempt to show him there is more to life than his love of money. This is accomplished through giving him a tour of his past, present and future and allowing him to witness London Christmas celebrations of all shapes and sizes. The entertaining stage version of Dicken's popular story includes his powerful message plus beautiful music written by Alan Menken (Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid) and emotional song lyrics penned by Lynn Ahrens (Seussical), all of which make for a magical tale that will leave audience members filled with the true spirit of Christmas and shouting "God bless us, every one!"

Advance tickets are $14, $12 for age 2-17 or seniors, age 62 or older. It is $11 for groups of 15 or more. Tickets are an additional $2 at the door.

School day advance tickets are $5 for groups of 75 and over, $6 for school groups of 15 to 74, or $9 per individual.
