Algonquin Lions donate $2,000 to Veterans Home Starter Kits

The Algonquin Lions Club collected more than $2,000 in household goods at its annual Charter Night.

The two clubs have partnered in the project the last two years to help returning and homeless veterans who are enrolled in the Veterans Home Starter Kits program.

The Algonquin Lions donated socks, T-shirts, towels, toilet tissue, coffee makers, dishes, and other household necessities.

"The Algonquin Lions Club partnership with the Sun City Lions has been very productive, and we hope to continue to expand this project," explained Algonquin Lion Don Purn, the Algonquin Lions director of the Veterans Home Starter Kit program.
