Lazarus House invites you to a Community Thanksgiving Feast

Lazarus House invites you to join its staff, guests and many supporters at the annual Thanksgiving Feast to be held Thursday, Nov. 23, at the Salvation Army Tri Cities Corps, 1710 S. Seventh Ave., St. Charles. The event will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., dining begins at noon.

The feast has become a tradition in the community. The potluck-style buffet, which is at no charge, gives you the opportunity to enjoy delicious food, entertainment and rich fellowship together.

In addition to the guests at Lazarus House enjoying all of the generosity and kindness from those who attend, the feast also has become the family meal for many who live by themselves or do not have family in the area.

Come meet new friends and share a meal with the neighbors in your community.

Plans are already underway for food and supply donations, and they encourage you to sign up now.

They need many items and many food dishes to make the event a success, so consider donating. If you want to cook, note that the food should arrive in a disposable container, and come hot and ready to serve between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. Check the website at lazarushouse.net for a list of foods and items needed. Lazarus House is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization based in downtown St. Charles.

It offers safe shelter, food and support services to men, women and children connected to St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia and western rural Kane County who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Lazarus House provides nourishing food, safe shelter, case management and other supportive services to about 50 people daily at its facility, and it assists another 38 households with monthly rental subsidies.
