A first-person portrayal of Jackie Kennedy by historian Leslie Goddard

On Thursday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m., historian and actress Leslie Goddard will portray the elegant and poised First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. "An Afternoon with Jackie Kennedy" is hosted by Windsor Park retirement community, located at 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream.

The office of First Lady has never been truly defined, yet it is a role that ranges from being a hostess to participating in political campaigns and cultural initiatives. Goddard performs a dynamic and dramatic portrayal of Kennedy as she transformed the White House into a museum of history and culture to inspire the nation toward patriotism and public service.

Goddard has been presenting history lectures and performing first-person programs in the Chicago area for more than 10 years. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, specializing in American studies and U.S. history, as well as master's degrees in theater and in museum studies. Goddard is the author of two books on Chicago history.

Space is limited and reservations are required for this free performance by calling 877-836-5664 or visiting http://www.windsorparkillinois.org/events.
