So Many Things to Do at Monarch Landing

On Monday, October 16th, Monarch Landing had its tenth annual club and committee fair, featuring the abundance of resident-driven programming at the active retirement community. "This is a fun event for us, as it reflects the diverse talents and interests of our residents," said Sherry DeFillippo, lifestyles manager at Monarch Landing. "All of the clubs, committees and groups on campus are invited to participate. They set up booths showing what they do. There are more than 70 different groups here. We really have something for just about every interest, hobby, talent, and ability. And if we don't have a program in place already, we encourage our residents to go ahead and get something started, with our support."

Committees include bike club, handbells and chimes, hand and foot canasta, investing club/wealth management, line dancing, model railroad, Project Linus, and travel club. Committees and activities new this year, include drop-in and draw, great decisions, Wii bowling, and mah jongg.

"We were really pleased with the attendance this year. This event is especially nice for those residents who are new, as it assists them in getting involved. It's also nice though, for residents who are looking to get more involved with the community," said DeFillippo.
