Dundee Township Lions dedicate a tree as a lasting legacy to Lions Park

The Dundee Township Lions recently donated a tree for Lions Park in East Dundee. This is a part of Lions Clubs International's Centennial Community Legacy Projects program.

The Lions met with community leaders on Saturday, Oct. 21, for a dedication ceremony.

Lions Clubs round the world are working to help more than 100 million people and complete Legacy Projects that make lasting contributions to their communities. This is also the 80th anniversary of the Dundee Township Lions.

According to Jim McClung, Lions President Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the globe.

Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the visually and hearing-impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects.

The Dundee Lions meet the third Thursday of the month at the Village Squire, 125 Washington St. in West Dundee. Find more about "Dundee Township Lions Club" on Facebook.
