WINGS Program, Inc. hosts Purple Tie Ball

WINGS hosted its "Purple Tie Ball" event, commemorating Domestic Violence Awareness Month, on Saturday, October 14 from 6 - midnight at Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca.

Over 250 people were in attendance. Anna and Greg Brown were honored as friends of WINGS and VersAnnette Blackman-Bosia, a WINGS graduate, received the David K. Hill award.

The event also featured entertainment by Laura Bretan, 15-year-old international singing sensation.

All proceeds from the event benefitted WINGS, whose mission is to provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence. WINGS provides safe and secure refuge and support services for women and children who are fleeing the devastating effects of domestic violence or homelessness.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. Domestic violence affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels.

WINGS is currently the largest domestic violence housing agency in the state of Illinois. Based in Suburban Chicago, WINGS is an agency that provides housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence. With 45 locations across Chicagoland, WINGS serves adult and child victims in both the city of Chicago and its suburbs.
