Glenbard West to present 'Footloose'

Glenbard West High School Theatre will present the musical "Footloose" in November.

In the story, Ren McCormack, a newcomer from Chicago, is shocked to discover the small Texas town he now calls home has made dancing and rock music illegal.

As he struggles to fit in, Ren faces an uphill battle to change things. With the help of his new friends, Willard and Ariel (who might be more than just a friend), he just might loosen up this conservative town.

But Ariel's influential father, the Rev. Shaw Moore, stands in the way.

From an enticing romance to music that will get audience members on their feet, "Footloose" has something for the whole family.

"Footloose" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 2-4, at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn. Tickets are $10 and seating is reserved. For tickets, call (630) 469-8600.

Cornejo, Emily Davidson, Brennan Dougherty, Jaclyn Dougherty, Evan Doty, Kyle Drexler, Miles Evans, Jessica Fernandez, Alex Frazer, Anna Huibregste, Emma King, Katie Laird, Julia Lane, Micah Love, Kelly Maganini, Robbie Matthew, Grady McDonnell, Kelly Mesenbrink, Grace Metcalf, Molly Molloy, Lizzie Mowry, Griffin Murphy, Charlie Musser, Kate Nalon, Julia Norvid, Maggie Pasterz, Laine Perez, Emma Raczka, Josh Reifel, Jackson Rench, Will Rozak, Brye Sebring, Lily Shorney, Maria Spengel, Jack Slevin, Sean Swikle, Brooklyn Vaughn, Jack Vu, Juliette Winter, Matt Yaniz and Cameron Young.

Student leaders include student directors Bijoy Shah and Sierra Shields, business director Alexandra Stolfe, and technical directors Yuvia Serna and Elinore Tolman.

The play is directed by Michael Fox, with vocal director Andy Jeffrey, technical director Arielle Valene, business director Jolaine Orlin and choreographer Jared Titus.
