Order of the Eastern Star chapter supports local community

Fox Valley Chapter 265, Order of the Eastern Star

Fox Valley Chapter 265, Order of the Eastern Star meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Masonic temple, 28 N. Van Nortwick Ave., Batavia.

The chapter collects nonperishables for the local food pantry and school supplies for neighboring schools. Fox Valley Chapter 265 also supports activities such as a statewide campaign in support of veterans and other charitable foundations, i.e, diabetes, heart, cancer research, arthritis, Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Order of the Eastern Star Home in Macon, Illinois, and Shriner's Children Hospitals. They also support youth groups that include Rainbow for Girls, Job's Daughters and DeMolay organizations for the youth in the community.

The Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois has approximately 13,000 members in the state and about 130 chapters.
