Hockey club to hold Pink at the Rink event

The Hoffman Estates Park District's Wolf Pack Hockey Club is holding a fundraising event called "Pink at the Rink" from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-22, at the Triphahn Center Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Proceeds will be donated to the mother of one of the players who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The club will have many events for hockey enthusiasts, including "Shoot the Puck," concessions, spirit wear and pink hair extensions for sale. Raffle tickets will be for sale for $1 each to win gift baskets.

The fundraising will also include a 50/50 raffle and silent auction (bidding ends at 7:30 p.m. Sunday). Items in the silent auction include a puck signed by Patrick Kane, a photo signed by Patrick Sharp, courtesy of the Chicago Blackhawks, and a signed Chicago Steel championship team picture.

Attendees are invited to stay late Saturday from 7-9 p.m. when the Frozen Snappers Women's Central Hockey League team will take the ice for family skate time. The family skate is open to all families for a $5 donation per person, which includes skate rental and admission.
