Great Pumpkin Celebration returns to Round Lake

Bring the kids in costume to Great Pumpkin Celebration in Round Lake

The Round Lake Area Park District will hold its annual Great Pumpkin Celebration Saturday, Oct. 21.

The event will run from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, 814 Hart Road, Round Lake.

The celebration offers free family fun including face painting, carnival games, a bounce house, and an outdoor hayride. There will also be an indoor fantasy maze and an outdoor corn maze.

Kids entertainment will include a Halloween-themed show performed by the RLAPD Community Theatre. For the youngest ones, a not-so-scary trick-or-treat walk will be available in the Children's Neighborhood Museum. Some of their favorite princesses and villains will be in attendance

Approximately 20 area businesses will be on-site for safe, indoor trick-or-treating.

There will also be a costume contest divided by age with prizes. The contest will be at 2:30 p.m. for ages 3 and younger, 3 p.m. for ages 4-6, 3:30 p.m. for ages 7-9, 4 p.m. for ages 10-12, and 4:30 p.m. for ages 13-15.
