Lisle Heritage Society to host Michelle Podkowa as she present, 1917: Catalyst for the Modern Era on Oct 26th.

Join the Lisle Heritage Society on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Netzley/Yender House at the Museums at Lisle Station Park, 921 School St, Lisle, for a presentation on 1917: Catalyst for the Modern Era. Michelle Podkowa, Museum Manager and Educator from the DuPage County Historical Museum will discuss life in DuPage County in 1917. Learn about this fascinating year as soldiers are heading to war; women are entering the workplace, volunteering or heading to war; and life is changing for everyone. Themes including patriotism, the fight for prohibition, disease and illness, women's fight for suffrage, and the history of the Red Cross will be discussed.

Later you can visit the DuPage County Historical Museum, 102 E Wesley St., Wheaton to view the exhibit. It will be on display from September 23, 2017 through July 30, 2018.
