McHenry County College Black Student Union to host hair demonstrations event

The McHenry County College Black Student Union is hosting fun events each month for MCC students, including Professional Hair Demonstrations from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 16, in the Commons area at the college, Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

You can watch professional stylists from Donna Lowe Salon in Algonquin create beautiful hairstyles on MCC students, including variety of hair types, including thick, coils, curls, short, kinky or long.

In November, the featured event is Skin Care with Mary Kay consultant Lashana Hughes from 9 a.m. to noon in Room B166-167. Visitors can come in for facials and receive information on how to become a beauty consultant.

The events are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to support the BSU's trip to a national conference in Whitewater, Wisconsin in November. For more information, call the MCC Student Life Office at (815) 455-8550.
