Elmhurst collecting unwanted drugs

The Elmhurst Police Department is conducting a Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the police station parking lot, 125 E. First St.

Officers will be on hand to collect expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs for safe destruction and with no questions asked.

Officials say unused or expired medications are a public safety issue that can lead to accidental poisoning, overdoses and abuse.

If you are unable to drop off unwanted prescription drugs on the Take Back Day, you may drop them off at any time at the prescription drug collection box in the police department lobby.

For details, call Sgt. Brett Kaczorowski at (630) 530-3050.
