Carpentersville to host first Fall Festival Oct. 14

The village of Carpentersville will host its first Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in Carpenter Park, off Maple Avenue. Admission is free.

There will be arts and crafts, pumpkin painting, face painting, a magic show, hayrides, Touch-a-Truck, games and a scarecrow contest. Kids can join in a Halloween costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

There will be food vendors. Enjoy hot cider or an apple cider doughnut.

There also will be an auto show; registration is $10, which includes two free hot dogs, chips and drink per car.

Stop by the showcase of original artists and crafters specializing in: jewelry making, paintings, wooden tractor planters, metal garden art, soap aromatherapy, holiday decor, handmade paper cards and knitted items, dog treats, pottery, sports items, blankets, etched mirrors and glassware, Marvel lamps, clothing, children's toys, and more. There's something for everyone, no matter your taste or style. Think fall and start your holiday shopping early for the special people in your life or pick something up for yourself!
