Trucks, Trunks & Treats come to Vernon Hills Oct. 14

The Vernon Hills Park District will present its annual Trucks, Trunks & Treats event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Family Aquatic Center, 635 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills.

Admission is $3, or free for ages 2 and younger.

Trucks, Trunks & Treats is like a traditional touch-a-truck event - giving children a chance to explore trucks, police cars, construction equipment and other specialized vehicles - with a Halloween twist. Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and bring trick-or-treat bags to receive candy for the operators of each vehicle.

The event will also feature hayrides, a bounce house, and food available for purchase. There will also be a Canine Costume Contest; entry is $1 (cash only, payable the day of the event).

The event is sponsored by Veterinary Specialty Center.

For details, visit vhparkdistrict.org. In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.
