Tickets on sale for York's Fall Drama Festival

Tickets for York High School's Fall Drama Festival will go on sale Sunday, Oct. 15, for performances this month of "The Children's Hour" and "Next to Normal."

"The Children's Hour" is a drama exploring the power of the spoken word. When a young girl starts a rumor about her teachers, lies compound, lives unravel and truths are revealed.

In today's world of social media and political volatility, Lillian Hellman's work is more relevant than the day it was written.

"Next to Normal" is true contemporary musical theater exploring how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, "Next to Normal" also was chosen as "one of the year's 10 best shows" by critics around the country.

"The Children's Hour" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 28. "Next to Normal" will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday, Oct. 27 and 29. Performances are at the school, 355 St. Charles Road, Elmhurst.

Tickets are $10, plus a processing fee, and available online beginning Sunday, Oct. 15, at ticketpeak.com/yorkdrama. The performances are not recommended for children younger than 13.
