Community Invited to Celebrate the Opening of Atwater Park in Naperville on Sat., Oct 14

The Naperville Park District invites the community to celebrate the opening of its newest playground at Atwater Park, on Saturday, October 14 at 9:30 a.m. The park is located at 1616 Capeside Drive in northwest Naperville.

Neighbors are invited to bring their families and friends to participate in a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, enjoy refreshments and giveaways, and explore the new play equipment.

Atwater Park serves the new Atwater subdivision being developed on the former Country Lakes Golf Course property. Land for the 1.6-acre neighborhood park was donated to the Park District by the developer through the City of Naperville's land dedication ordinance and is the Park District's newest park. The new playground was recently completed and is the sixth playground constructed by the Naperville Park District in 2017.

"These new and renovated playgrounds, along with nearly 70 other playgrounds throughout Naperville, provide outdoor recreation close to home, and are an important part of the Park District's annual capital projects," said Director of Planning Eric Shutes. "Residents helped choose the playground pieces, which are designed to be accessible, safe and fun for all kids."
