Bartlett library board to receive check for new door

On Monday, Oct. 16, the Bartlett Public Library District Foundation will present a check in the amount of $8,738.00 to the Bartlett Public Library board of trustees to cover the cost of the library's new front door.

This presentation takes place at the beginning of the regular monthly meeting of the Bartlett Public Library board of trustees at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the Bartlett Public Library, 800 S. Bartlett Road, Bartlett.

The Bartlett Public Library District Foundation was established in 2000 as a means to assist the Bartlett Public Library by raising additional funds to provide for capital expenses, along with library materials and services for the use of the Bartlett community, beyond funding available through property taxes and state grants.

The 2017-2018 Bartlett Public Library District Foundation Appeal Campaign focused on the need for replacing the exterior front lobby doors of the Bartlett Public Library building. In addition to the foundation's Main Fund, donations may also be directed to the Patti Perkins Women's Health Fund of the Bartlett Public Library District Foundation.

While the foundation has not yet met its 2017-2018 appeal goal of $10,000, a combination of funds already accumulated and funds received to date to the Main Fund during the current appeal campaign have enabled this donation to the library.

The foundation accepts donations in any amount. All donations may be mailed to Bartlett Public Library District Foundation, 800 S. Bartlett Road, Bartlett, IL 60103, or dropped off at the Bartlett Public Library.

The Bartlett Public Library District Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization, enabling a tax deduction for those donating funds to the foundation. Gifts of $200 and more are recognized with a plaque on the Foundation Donor Wall, located in the entry lobby of the Bartlett Public Library.

The Bartlett Public Library District Foundation appreciates the assistance of the Bartlett Community and Bartlett businesses as the foundation strives to raise funds to support the Bartlett Public Library - the "Best Place to Learn and Discover."
