St. Charles library to offer AARP Smart Driver course

The St. Charles Public Library will host AARP Smart Driver on Tuesday, Oct. 10 and Thursday, Oct. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Huntley Meeting Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

AARP Smart Driver is the nation's first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 or older.

This course covers defensive driving techniques and provides tips for adjusting to the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. Participants will learn about current rules of the road and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly-challenging driving environment.

Advanced registration is required. Participants must attend both days.

A fee of $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members includes a guidebook. Attendees pay the instructor directly.

To register, sign up in person at the reference desk or by calling 630-584-0076, ext. 1 or stcharleslibrary.org.

For more information, visit www.st.charleslibrary.org or call 630-584-0076, ext. 1.
