Spend Columbus Day racing through the obstacles at Schaumburg Park District's new Challenge Course.

The Meineke Park Challenge Course Combine is set for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Participants will have the chance to test their speed, agility and balance against fellow competitors.

"This is a great way to expose children in the community to everything the new Challenge Course has to offer," said Derek Radek, athletics supervisor.

Awards will be given to the top finalists in each age group. Age divisions include:

• Grades seven -eight

• Grades nine-10

• Grades 11-12

Cost is $5 for residents and $8 for nonresidents. Registration is required.
