Schaumburg Parent University to hold Back-to-School Power Moves workshop Oct. 12

District 54's Schaumburg Parent University will hold a Back-to-School Power Moves workshop from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 12 in the District 54 Board Room, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.

During this interactive session, parents will learn about the Super 5: Back-to-School Power Moves to help support learning at home. This includes five simple actions and free, easy-to-use resources and activities. This presentation will be held in conjunction with the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs and feature Illinois PTA Immediate Past President Matthew John Rodriguez. This session is for adults only; childcare is available.

Schaumburg Parent University classes are open to all interested community members. To register, contact Meg Kwak at MegKwak@sd54.org or by phone at 847-357-6586; please include/leave your name, contact information, number of adults attending and number of children requiring childcare.

Schaumburg Parent University is designed to involve more parents in their schools, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally. Two types of classes are offered: Practical Parenting for adults only and Time Together, where families learn and play together. Most classes are free and childcare is provided.
